The Songbird Sessions brings together Oklahoma singer-songwriters to celebrate the women who have shaped music across generations. Each performance pairs original songs and personal stories with tributes to influential female singer-songwriters who helped inspire the artists on stage.

Megan Marlene

Tribute to Tenille Townes

Megan Marlene is an Oklahoma City-based singer-songwriter and storyteller whose music blends Americana, folk, country, bluegrass and indie influences with thoughtful, lyric-driven songwriting. Raised on a small family farm in eastern Kansas, Megan grew up surrounded by music, from her father’s guitar playing to generations of family musicians and performers. After exploring piano, mandolin and fiddle, she found her voice on acoustic guitar, developing a warm, finger-picked style that moves easily between heartfelt ballads and lighthearted, toe-tapping songs. Now an active part of Oklahoma’s music community, Megan performs both solo and with a full band, bringing an intimate storyteller’s sensibility to every stage.

Tenille Townes is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Grande Prairie, Alberta, whose thoughtful, story-driven songs blend contemporary country with a folk-rooted singer-songwriter sensibility. After moving to Nashville, Townes emerged as one of country music’s most distinctive young voices with songs including “Somebody’s Daughter” and “Jersey on the Wall (I’m Just Asking),” both of which reached No. 1 in Canada. Her 2020 debut album, *The Lemonade Stand*, earned widespread acclaim and helped bring her JUNO, ACM and numerous Canadian Country Music Association awards. She has toured with artists including Stevie Nicks, Shania Twain, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire and George Strait. Now working independently, Townes has moved toward a more intimate, stripped-down sound with *The Acrobat*, an album she largely wrote, performed, produced and mixed herself. Throughout her work, she uses vivid storytelling and empathy to explore connection, resilience and the complicated inner lives of everyday people.
Liz Zotta

Tribute to Beth Hart
Liz Zotta is a Tulsa-based singer-songwriter, performer, and producer whose work centers on honest songwriting, meaningful collaboration, and community. After relocating from New York with her family in 2019, she found a creative home in Oklahoma’s music scene, performing as the front woman of Tulsa rock band Red Letters and as a member of the Leon Live Band. She also produces *The Songbird Sessions*, which brings female singer-songwriters together to share original music, celebrate influential women artists, and support Tulsa-area programs serving women and families. In 2026, Liz was inducted into Women of Song in recognition of her commitment to Oklahoma’s female artists. With Red Letters, she has performed at the Tulsa State Fair, the BOK Center’s *Rock the Block*, Utica Square’s Summer’s Fifth Night, and venues throughout Northeast Oklahoma, while the band also serves together on the worship team for ABBA Celebrate Recovery. Whether writing, performing, or creating opportunities for other artists, Liz is dedicated to using music to bring people together.
Beth Hart is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter known for her powerhouse voice and deeply personal blend of blues, rock, soul, and gospel. Emerging from Los Angeles in the 1990s, she gained widespread attention with her breakout song “LA Song (Out of This Town)” and has since built an international following through emotionally charged albums and commanding live performances. Hart has collaborated extensively with guitarist Joe Bonamassa and worked with artists including Jeff Beck and Slash, while her own music often draws from experiences of struggle, recovery, resilience, and self-discovery. With a raw, fearless performance style and a voice capable of moving from a whisper to a roar, she has become one of contemporary blues-rock’s most distinctive and compelling artists.

Spitfire, sassy and sweet, honest and raw, savage and vulnerable, unfiltered with no apologies, just a woman and her guitar with a pure emotional partnership. She’s graced the stage of the Kansas State Fair multiple times. Included on festival lineups with headliners, Flatland Cavalry and Kaitlin Butts.

Casii Stephan

Tribute to Bonnie Raitt
Casii Stephan is a genre-fluid Tulsa songwriter blending pop, soul, rock, and folk with sharp hooks and emotionally fearless storytelling. Her socially aware songs explore love, loss, grief, growth, sexism, and ageism, earning recognition from the International Acoustic Music Awards, International Songwriting Competition, and Kerrville Folk Festival. She has performed at SXSW and Folk Alliance showcases and will appear at AMERICANAFEST in Nashville this September. Her debut album, Let Her Have Her Flowers, produced by Chad Copelin, is set for release in early 2027.

Known for her expressive voice, masterful slide guitar, and deeply felt songwriting, she broke through to mainstream success with albums like *Nick of Time* and songs including “Something to Talk About” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” Across more than five decades, Raitt has remained a powerful interpreter of song and an influential voice in roots music.
Wanda Watson

Tribute to Toni Price
She’s won the awards. She’s packed the clubs. She’s stood shoulder-to-shoulder with legends. And after life knocked her flat in 2020 w/the loss of her husband/drummer of 18 yrs., she did what true blues artists do — she turned pain into power and came back stronger. Wanda’s voice can growl, soar, testify, and whisper — sometimes all in the same song. One minute she’s channeling straight-up soul fire, the next she’s wrapping you in a slow-burning ballad that feels like it was written just for you. Tulsa knows her. The musicians respect her. The fans love her. And every time she hits the stage with her new lineup, she proves she’s not just part of the scene — she’s part of its foundation. Her motto says it all: “Come get a little on ya.” And trust us — you will.
Toni Price was a beloved country-blues and roots singer whose soulful voice made her a fixture of the Austin music scene. Nicknamed the “Juke Joint Madonna,” she blended blues, country, R&B, and Americana while building a devoted following through her legendary Tuesday-night residency at the Continental Club and albums including *Swim Away*, *Hey*, and *Born to Be Blue*. An Austin Music Hall of Fame inductee and multiple Austin Music Award winner, Price remained a singular interpreter of other songwriters’ work until her death in 2024 at age 63.

Tulsa-born artist Ari Yvon is a professional singer and performer with a warm, expressive, and soulful voice, shaped by more than a decade of performing on local stages and in front of international audiences. Throughout her career, she has performed for many notable celebrities, including Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson, bringing the same authenticity and artistry to every stage. Blending soft pop with R&B, soul, and jazz influences, Ari creates music that feels intimate and lived-in, like you’re sitting in her living room hearing the songs unfold for the very first time.

Peggy Lee was an influential American singer, songwriter, and actress whose cool, intimate vocal style helped shape jazz and popular music for generations. Rising to fame with Benny Goodman in the 1940s, she went on to record classics including “Fever,” “Why Don’t You Do Right?” and “Is That All There Is?” while also writing songs for film, most notably Lady and the Tramp. Known for her sophisticated phrasing and understated power, Lee became one of the most distinctive voices of 20th-century American music.

Ashley Smith

Ashley Smith is a Singer/Songwriter from small town Cleveland, Ok. She starting playing music at a young age with her family who played bluegrass music. She then later found her true passion, after being inspired by another musician to play guitar and write her own music. Ever since then writing songs, playing guitar, and leading worship at church has been a normal and has grown from there. She started playing gigs her Junior year of high school and has been growing and learning ever since then. Seeing the music and lyrics connect with a crowd is Ashley’s why and what brings her the most joy! Her music fuses the world of Country and Christian genres with heartfelt lyrics that come from personal experiences.

Bria Edwards

Tribute to Alicia Keys

Bria started singing around age seven. Growing up, she was surrounded by different kinds of music and instruments and is the great granddaughter of a Hyechka Club/Tulsa Music Teachers Assoc. President and classical piano teacher of 76 years. In high school, Bria joined an advanced choir group called Beautyshop, getting her first taste for the stage. In 2009 she started her first original music project, pop rock band Driving Avery and began playing in the Tulsa music scene and surrounding areas. Many years and projects later she is now the lead singer of Honey Hush and a supporting vocalist in The Holdouts. Not only a musician, Bria is also a makeup/nail artist and most importantly a mother. When she’s not busy with gigs or songwriting, she is usually spending her time creating content, art or having fun with her two sons, Strummer and Clash.

Alicia Keys is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, pianist, and producer whose music blends R&B, soul, pop, and classical influences. She broke through with her 2001 debut Songs in A Minor and hits including “Fallin’,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” and “No One,” earning acclaim for her powerful vocals, musicianship, and deeply personal songwriting. Beyond music, Keys is also known for her work as an author, activist, and advocate for artists and communities around the world.

A portion of the proceeds from The Songbird Sessions will benefit Lindsey House, supporting its work to help women and their families build stability and self-sufficiency.
